Orientation runs from the 3rd to the 7th of February at South Campus. For details, download the NMU Humanities Orientation timetable here.

Does NSFAS have a budget for student loans?

Yes, NSFAS has a budget for student loans in 2025 for those with a household income between R350,001 and R600,000. The "Loan in Progress" status means your application is under review. Check your NSFAS portal regularly for updates.
For more info: NSFAS Website.

Where can I find student accommodation?

Check NMU's official accommodation list here or contact private residence options.

What is the link to change my course at NMU?

You need to complete the "Change of Qualification Application Form" and submit it to your Faculty Administrative Officer.
Download the form here.

Will the AO status change to admitted?

If your AO status (Application Outcome) at Nelson Mandela University currently shows "programme full" or is in progress, it does not guarantee that it will automatically change to "admitted." Being on a waiting list means you could still be offered a spot if others cancel or do not accept their admission.

When will the classes start?

Classes begin on February 10th.

I managed to register without receiving a clearance SMS. Is it safe to come to campus?

Yes, the clearance SMS isn't a mandatory requirement if you've already registered. You should be attending orientation with other registered students.

Admission Status Information

We are not the admission office; we are a service assisting students with their needs.

Please do not share sensitive information with us.

If your admission status is still on AO (Application Outcome), this is a technical waiting list, meaning if already registered students choose to deregister, your application will be re-evaluated and accepted if you meet the remaining placement criteria.
